By accessing or using the Droid website (opendroids.com) or placing a pre-order for any of our products, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement, and accept these Terms in full.

If you are placing a pre-order on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

Droid offers pre-orders for advanced robotics hardware, including but not limited to the Data Collection Glove and the DH116 Dexterous Hand. Pre-orders are reservations for products that are in active development and production.

Product specifications, pricing, and estimated delivery timelines are subject to change. We will notify pre-order customers of any material changes via the email address provided at checkout.

Images, renders, and demonstrations shown on our website are representative of the intended final product. Minor aesthetic differences between promotional materials and the shipped product may occur.

To secure a production slot, a fully refundable deposit is required at the time of pre-order. The deposit amount is displayed clearly during the checkout process and varies by product and quantity.

Deposit Refund Policy: Your deposit is 100% refundable at any time prior to the commencement of final production of your specific unit(s). Once production has begun, deposits become non-refundable. We will provide at least 30 days' written notice before production commences.

The remaining balance of your order will be invoiced separately prior to shipment. Failure to pay the remaining balance within the specified payment window may result in forfeiture of your production slot and deposit.

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Droid does not store your full payment card details. By completing payment, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of applicable taxes, duties, and shipping costs unless otherwise stated.

Estimated delivery timelines are provided in good faith based on current production schedules. These are estimates and are not guaranteed. Droid shall not be liable for delays caused by manufacturing, supply chain disruptions, customs, or other factors beyond our reasonable control.

Shipping costs will be calculated and communicated prior to final invoicing. Risk of loss and title for products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier.

International customers are responsible for all import duties, customs fees, and taxes applicable in their country of destination.

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, software, product designs, firmware, and documentation — is the exclusive property of Droid or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit any content from this website without our prior written consent.

Purchase of a product grants you a license to use that product for its intended purpose. It does not transfer any intellectual property rights in the product's design, firmware, or software to you.

You agree not to use our website or products to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any product firmware or software
• Use our products for military weapons systems, autonomous lethal applications, or any purpose that violates human rights
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when placing an order
• Transmit any unsolicited commercial communications via our contact channels
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or infrastructure

Our website and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Droid disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Open Droids and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website, products, or services.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your pre-order shall not exceed the amount of the deposit paid by you for the relevant order.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Open Droids and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active pre-order customers via email.

Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

This policy applies to all pre-orders placed on opendroids.com, including the Data Collection Glove and DH116 Dexterous Hand.

Before production commences: Your deposit is 100% refundable. You may cancel your pre-order and receive a full refund at any time before we notify you that production of your specific unit(s) has begun.

After production commences: Once we have confirmed that production of your order has begun (with at least 30 days' prior written notice), the deposit becomes non-refundable as it covers materials and manufacturing costs already incurred.

If Droid cancels your order: In the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfill your pre-order for any reason, you will receive a 100% refund of your deposit regardless of production status, within 10 business days.

To cancel your pre-order and request a deposit refund, please contact our support team:

Please include your full name, email address used at checkout, and your order ID (found in your confirmation email). We aim to acknowledge all cancellation requests within 1 business day.

We will send a Production Commencement Notice to your registered email address at least 30 calendar days before your production slot is locked in. This notice will include:

• Your confirmed order details and specifications
• The exact date production will begin
• The deadline to cancel and still receive a full deposit refund
• Instructions for the remaining balance payment (due before shipment)

It is your responsibility to ensure your registered email address is current and that our emails are not filtered to spam.

If your product arrives defective or fails to function as described within 30 days of delivery, please contact us immediately. We will, at our discretion:

• Repair or replace the defective unit at no cost to you
• Issue a full refund of the purchase price if repair or replacement is not feasible

Defects caused by misuse, unauthorized modification, physical damage, or use outside the specified operating parameters are not covered under this policy.

To initiate a defective product claim, email contact@opendroids.com with your order ID, a description of the defect, and supporting photos or video.

If your product is damaged in transit, please document the damage immediately upon receipt (photographs of the packaging and product) and contact us within 72 hours of delivery.

We will work with you and the carrier to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement unit or partial/full refund depending on the extent of the damage.

Do not discard the original packaging until the claim is resolved, as it may be required for carrier insurance purposes.

The following are not eligible for refunds:

• Deposits after production has commenced (except in cases where Droid cancels the order)
• Products that have been physically modified, disassembled, or damaged through misuse
• Shipping and handling fees (unless the error was on our part)
• Import duties, taxes, or customs fees paid by the customer
• Software licenses or digital products delivered electronically

Once a refund is approved, we will process it to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. The time for the refund to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and may take an additional 3–5 business days.

Refunds are issued in the original currency of the transaction (USD). Droid is not responsible for currency conversion losses or fees charged by your financial institution.

You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.
